Tree-Free Paper 🌳

In 2019, we collectively proposed a "Solution to Pollution" to reduce the use of plastic, which was partially successful. However, since the pandemic began, plastic usage has surged due to the widespread use of PPE kits, masks, shields, and sanitizer holders. Plastic consumption is a major environmental issue, but it is not the only one. Deforestation is another significant issue, and paper is the primary cause of it. Instead of merely urging people to stop cutting down trees, we need to identify a better, more feasible, and accessible alternative.

For instance, paper or cloth bags can be an alternative to plastic bags, but they may not be practical or affordable for everyone. Globally, between 80,000 and 160,000 trees are cut down each day, with a considerable percentage being utilized in the paper industry. To mitigate or eliminate deforestation, we must discover an alternative to paper production. Paper can be manufactured without using trees as raw materials, which is surprising! Elephant dung and sugarcane waste fiber can be utilized to produce paper rather than trees, and the invention of Tree-Free paper is a commendable initiative toward tree conservation.
